chronic pain mountain

My Values

The most obvious reason to browse this page is to gain a deeper understanding about me; my background, my experiences with chronic pain, and my tools to navigate life. These are my pain values:

  • I approach my health with a mindful balance, incorporating both conventional western medicine and alternative health practices to effectively manage my condition and well-being. Always stay openminded.

  • I support the biopsychosocial model of pain- that pain is not just nerve signals and chemicals, but a complex network of biological, psychological, and social elements that contribute to pain. You can live with your pain.

  • I commend evidence-based practice and research.

“It is What

YOU MAke It”

- ME!!!

My Mantra

  • It is as hard as YOU make it (ex: ask for help, delegate, regroup)

  • It is as big of a mountain as YOU make it (ex:add stairs, or set-up a base camp for a few months or years)

  • It is as fun as YOU make it (be creative, adventurous, goofy)

  • It is as awkward as YOU make it (ex: talk about poop, or poop in a public washroom because fiber is not something to be quiet about)

  • It is as rewarding as YOU make it (ex: you finally get the kids to bed at 8pm and celebrate with eating directly from the ice cream bucket on the couch cuddled up with your partner watching the latest top 10 Netflix TV series. Chocolate Mint for the win!!!)
